FUB Engages Zebras Camp in Candid Talks on Player Welfare and Professional Challenges
Led by Vice President Bonang Mosetha, the delegation included Player Relations rep. Joel Mogorosi, Head of Player Development Mmoni Segopolo, and FUB Strategic Relations Benjamin Radimo. The session created a rare platform for players to openly share the realities they face, both in their club environments and while on national duty.
Discussions revealed recurring challenges around contract security, delayed payments at club level, and the physical toll of congested match schedules. Some players also raised concerns about communication gaps between clubs and the national team setup, particularly regarding player release, medical reporting, and workload management.
Interestingly, the conversation went beyond the pitch. Players spoke about the mental strain of balancing performance expectations with personal pressures, especially when transitioning between club football and representing the country. The need for structured psychological support and clearer career guidance pathways emerged as key themes.
Mogorosi, drawing from his experience as a seasoned international, emphasised the importance of unity and trust between players and administrators. The FUB leadership, in turn, reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for improved working conditions, professional standards, and safeguarding player rights across Botswana football.
The meeting concluded with a shared understanding: sustainable progress for the Zebras depends not only on tactical and technical preparation, but also on addressing the everyday realities affecting the players behind the scenes.
