Botswana players take part in world wide medical survey
Footballers Union of Botswana (FUB) and FIFPRO in collaboration with the Amsterdam University Medical Centers, have started a medical survey to monitor the health (mental, joints, brain, heart) of male professional footballers during their pre- and post-retirement years. The project targets players who are aged between 25-29 years.
Through this project, their health will be monitored over the next 10 years, which will also cover the period after their retirement from professional football. According to FUB medical committee, with the results of this project, the union will be able to get a better understanding about when and how health problems might occur and when support measures should be offered.
